The politics of boarding a Danfo( Bus ) in Lagos.

1. Before you board the bus listen carefully as the conductor calls out his destination.

2. When you are in a Danfo please keep your prim and proper and phonetics at home. A little pidgin will help when asking for your change.

3. If you are two bus stops before your stop, please start rehearsing how to shout O wa! Especially if you are seated at the back seat.

4. If you are slim do not take the third seat on the first row or any of the rows or you might just be compressed by passengers on the big side.

5. As a slim person your ideal seat is the seat by the window. You can take in the soft breeze of whatever time of the day it is.

6. If the conductor screams "hold your change" before you  board the bus. Please liaise with him that you do not have a lower denomination.
Do not enter the bus with a thousand naira note for a bus fare of fifty naira if you do not want to be abused in different tongues.

7. If you find out the fare is  seventy naira only to discover you have fifty naira. Please wear your begging skills. It would do you a lot of good.

8. Never assume you have told the conductor your bus stop and seat comfortably waiting to be told when to alight. You might just find yourself at the bus garage where you first boarded. Always remind the conductor of your stop if you do not know the place.

9. Do not be in a haste to take the change a fellow passenger has to avoid haggling with the conductor. You might just be disappointed to realize that th money you collected was torn or mutilated.

10. Do not ask for directions to a place from a conductor calling out to passengers to board his vehicle.
You could be misdirected.
