Happy Independence Day.
Whoop! Whoop!
It's a lot of excitement.
It's the first day of a new month and it is also a new dawn for my beloved country Nigeria.
Nigeria gained her Independence on the first day of October, 1960. Those years till this moment makes it 57 years of being an independent state, saddled with controlling her own affairs and making her own policies.
In all of these years, the country has experienced challenging times and joyful periods. However, in recent years it has not been so rosy, the threat of secession, the spate of violence and terrorist uprisings, corruption and the likes have all threatened the peace and continued existence of this nation.
Today as we mark this new year, as a Nigerian I am hopeful we would come out strong, braving all the odds that stare us in the face. A Nation like ours with three major languages and over two hundred and something tribes, we have lived sustainably with our differences.
Our Nation is blessed with rich, human and natural resources and I believe, our unity and progress would never be dismembered.
One Nigeria, Nigeria for all.
