Friendships Don't Expire.
I am sure you would wonder what roused this quote and topic. So, earlier this week I stumbled on an opinion post about friendships and how the writer thinks, friendships expire.
I thought through the statement and came to the conclusion that I don't think friendships expire, we rather outgrow each other.
Expiration comes with a finality, a loss of kindness, concern and humaness. When we outgrow each other in friendships, there's still a strain of concern, humanness that lies shrouded in the distance. Yes, this concern may seem jaded. Irrespective of the fences that have been built, there's still a possibility of revival.
It is reason why friends may go their separate ways for years and one chance meeting will bring them closer than ever. Sometimes, Friends quarrel with each other and fate presents an opportunity for one of them to save the other's live.
In that regard, expiration did not occur in that friendship, rather, the friends grew apart. Friendships do not expire. Need I say, real friendships do not.
